What is the bartender tip for a Roasted Passion?
Passion fruit syrup already sweetens: that is why the coffee liqueur stays at 30 ml and the lime comes in at 20 ml — without the citrus the drink turns cloying. Intense bottled syrup, drop to 15 ml; homemade 1:1 stays at 20 ml. Aged whiskey with body; unaged cachaça knocks out the roast. Cabra Lab (or another liqueur made with real coffee) holds the foam in the shake. Double strain over a large cube. The bean on the ice is the aroma; you do not need fruit. It is not the Revólver (whisky and coffee up, no passion fruit), or the Cowboy Latino (pulp, simple syrup, and an Angostura fade, no coffee).
